A silk purse from a sows ear!
The original piece developed a stress crack after one of the pieces of glass changed COE (coefficient of thermal expansion). Namely two adjoining pieces of glass became incompatible after one or more high temperature firings and expanded at different rates.
I redesigned the bowl, cut out the offending crack, and came up with this!

My first Laurie Spray ring melt!
These are way too much fun!

EXPLOSION!

Center was carefully fitted with red glass after an air bubble blew a large hole in it. Salvaged the piece and and named it explosion. The surrounding glass is strip cut.
